About Us dbc-Diagnostics Biochem Canada Inc.was founded in 1973. The purpose at that time was to Research, develop and market kits and reagents by Radioimmunoassay in human serum or plasma. Our laboratory really started in 1968. We raised many polyclonal antibodies especially in the domain of steroids. We tested hundreds of polyclonal antibodies to find out their titers and specificities. After we have raised many acceptable antibodies we of course started to sell them. Many Medical Institutions encouraged us at that time to develop radioimmunoassay kits using two isotopes namely tritium and/or iodine 125. We found tritium had a much longer shelf life but cumbersome to work with therefore we adapted Iodine 125 even though it had a shorter shelf like (some 60 days). We then founded dbc in 1973 selling the RiA kits mainly steroids by Radioimmunoassay to various medical institutions. In 1987 we researched and developed EiA system for various analytes and thereafter introduced these few Elisa kits on the market. We were surprised at the demand and thereafter cancelled selling radioimmunoassay kits. Today we have 42 Elisa kits which are marketed in many countries. In 2001 we started to research and develop many kits by a relatively new assay namely, chemiluminescent (CliA). We realized then the possibility of it's sensitivity, shorter incubation time. Today, we also offer to various laboratories this assay system namely chemiluminescent. We have now developed 13 CliA kits and more kits are continuously appearing on the market. During the past six years many capable and young scientists
have joined our company forming a research team whereby we R and D more
complicated assays by CliA for example, angiotensin !! and Renin. Eventually
soon we will introduce on the market the Renin-Angiotensin-Aldosterone
axis. Our Aldosterone has been on the market for many years both by Elisa
and CliA in human serum and urine. |
